A little clarity.

Responses
When you leave a response, the text and optional alias are stored for review. Only approved responses appear publicly, with a day-level date. Pending and rejected responses stay private. An editorial reply is identified as El SubCulture.
Do not put private information in a public response. To request review or removal, use the “Request review” link beside the response and send a private note with its reference.
Private notes
Your email address, note, and optional alias are saved in a private inbox. The contact service also forwards them to Formspree to send an email notification. They are used to read your message and, when appropriate, respond. Your note is never converted into a public comment, and sending it does not subscribe you to anything.
Private notes and rejected or pending responses are deleted from this site’s database after 180 days. Copies in Formspree and the receiving mailbox have separate retention settings. Approved responses remain until removed. A deleted record may remain in private backups for up to 30 days. Provider security records may follow separate retention rules.
Technical processing
Cloudflare serves the site and processes requests, including connection information such as IP addresses. When forms are available, abuse checks may use Cloudflare Turnstile. A verification challenge loads when you interact with a form. Cloudflare processes the signals needed to perform that check.
The application uses short-lived, keyed hashes of connection information for rate limits and deletes those records within a day. It does not store raw IP addresses in its database. Message text is not sent to analytics or saved in your browser’s local storage. Text you are typing remains in memory while the page is open.
Outside this collection
External links lead to other websites with their own privacy practices. An embedded video makes requests to YouTube only after you choose to play it. Its privacy-enhanced player still involves processing by that provider.
Access and removal
To ask about a response or private note you sent, use the private note form. Include enough context to locate it, and avoid sending additional sensitive information. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted; access to the private inbox is restricted.
